Depo was my dad's nickname. Supposedly he got the nickname at a very early age. As a child he accompanied his father to work. Grandpa was a Railroad Stationmaster for the Illinois Central. Someone called him "DEPO" and the name stuck throughout his lifetime. Most people thought that it was his given name.
Daddy was a veteran serving in the Navy during WW2 in the Phillipines and was always very reluctant to talk about it. He was a carpenter, trapper, hunter, fisherman and respected by many who knew him.
Daddy was opinionated but usually expressed them to me in the form of a question.
